Where do I begin? Its the first favourites post of the year, January as always feels like its never going to end and I’ve had the first snow day this winter. The most brief and to the point introduction I’ve ever done. Here’s what I’ve been loving…
As soon as I unwrapped this beautiful necklace on Christmas day, I knew it was going to end up in a monthly favourites. Up until that point, I was yet to find a necklace I could wear everyday. I love the simplicity of it because it means I can wear it with any outfit but it still makes it seem like I’ve put a bit of effort in.
Just before Christmas, I decided to cave and buy Netflix. I must have been about the only person without the subscription until I found out Taylor Swifts stadium tour was premiering on there. Well that was it, I just had to have it in my life. It worked out well because it acted as a early Christmas present for my Dad to watch ‘Sunderland till I die’. Everyone was happy, but then Gossip girl took over my life. I watched all 6 seasons in a month. I’m so ashamed, but not that ashamed because I loved every second and I also now have a slight obsession with Ed Westwick. I’m still in the period of mourning the loss of Gossip Girl and kind of don’t know what to with my life now. So if anyone has any good Netflix recommendations, let me know.
This month, I had a really tragic time of not being able to find my Carmex ANYWHERE. So I stumbled on the Fizz & Bubbles lip balm just in time, (let me tell you my lips were drier than the Sahara desert) the scent took some getting used to but its really grown on me. Luckily, (first world problems solved) I found my trusty Carmex at the bottom of my gym bag. So now I can use Carmex before I go to sleep and Fizz & Bubbles during the day.
Last year I used the tinted version of the Effaclar Duo. So on my Christmas list was the ordinary one. I really love this product, I feel that it keeps my breakouts at bay and whilst its one of my more expensive skincare products, you can really tell the quality.
January was the month I handed in my work for each module, which signified finishing my very first semester of uni. Obviously, this had to be a favourite because I’ve had almost a couple weeks break. I did maybe one full week back after Christmas and then the hand ins started? I don’t know whether its the best thing to happen (more time to sleep) or the worst and I’m really going to struggle to get back into things this week. Either way, I’m glad I got through the first semester and I’m intrigued to see how second semester progresses.
One of the days I was actually supposed to be in Uni for, I actually missed because I got snowed in. I say that as if it was the most snow I’d ever seen, it wasn’t. But I couldn’t actually drive off my path it was so icy. I live in a tiny village, so it pretty much came to a complete standstill and no one seemed to be able to even drive up the bank to get out of the estate. Anyways, my Mum got a call from work to say she wasn’t needed because of the weather so we ended up having a snow daw. I actually think I have the dog that loves snow the most, he would have happily played all day in it.
Finally, I was also thinking about making an instagram for my dog. Is that completely crazy?! I feel like I’ve reached the weird level of being a pet owner and I either need someone to tell me its a crazy idea or encourage it. Hoping its the latter, I have far too many insta worthy picture of Alfie.
What have you been loving this month?
Lots of Love,
