A month ago today I finished my first year at uni and surprisingly I’ve now only just been thinking of all the things I’d like to do with the rest of the time I still have off. Since I’ve been writing them down every time I thought of a new one, I thought I’d share what I have so far.
As much as working is something I can’t imagine anyone wanting to do during the Summer, it’s something I want to continue to do, to be able to save money. Ideally, I’d like to start saving for a house, I don’t think its something you can start too early and its important to prepare for the future. I’m also not unrealistically saying 100% of the money I earn, is going straight into a savings account because a gals got to LIVE.
With working at a gym, its really helped with the motivation to use it. I have a rule with myself that after I’ve finished a morning shift, I have to either use the gym or go for a swim. Also when my Mum and I’s days off coordinate we go as well, so for once I’m going to the gym at least 3/4 times a week. Which during the Summer is seemingly something I can maintain.
Earlier this year, I downloaded ‘Duolingo’ to start practicing French and I really got into the habit of it. With uni deadlines, it didn’t become as much of a priority but now I have free time, I’d like to get back into it. I also have all my fingers crossed that there is at least a French themed song on Taylor Swifts new album ‘Lover’.
Last Summer, I really got into trying vegetarian based meals and I found it interesting how simple it could be. To the point that today I still incorporate meat-free meals during the week but I’d like to try more. Whilst I was open to vegetarianism, I’m a lot more baffled by the whole sphere of veganism. However, I’d like to learn a bit about it and at least try vegan alternatives.
It makes sense that because I’m doing an Art based course at Uni, I can’t last 3 months without doing anything creative. I’ve started thinking up a couple ideas of things I could do from painting to making a garment and I’m excited to get back into it on my own terms.
I love to read and I get the most done during the Summer when I don’t have anything really important to get done. I also have about 3 or 4 books to get started with and I’m very ready to get into them.
Do you have anything you’d like to achieve this Summer?
