During the design development process, I find it beneficial to use collage techniques and half scale stand work to generate design ideas.
An example of sample development during my graduate collection. It was of extreme importance to me to consider all options during production to ensure the highest quality of a garment.
This collection was entirely zero-waste. Therefore it was important to include the lay plans with the CAD drawings to demonstrate how the garments achieved this.
Above are three of the final looks that made up my graduate collection. ‘PWR-FL Femininity’ was created from imagining the workplace post-covid. Balancing sustainable femininity with oversized, menswear silhouettes to create workwear for the new working woman.
Nottingham Trent University 2021-2022: MA International Fashion Management
My MA dissertation titled ‘The utilisation of cloth within the circular economy: the SMEs perspective’ focused on understanding the waste issues within the fashion industry and SMEs ability to create change. Primary research was collected to understand how SMEs currently reduce their waste and their beliefs around a business mega trend occurring. Ultimately, the creative output to the dissertation was a business plan for a zero-waste womenswear brand.
